About myself

Now, what should I say! my name is Christian Eilmes and I hold a degree in physics. It all began in a small village called Mueden/Oertze located in the middle of Northern Germany, and if you can believe my parents and my birth certificate - and why shouldn't you - I was born on the night of the 18/19 August shortly after midnight.

In 1982 I left my home village and went to Hamburg to study. First at the PTL-Wedel and then at the Technical College in Wedel. My chosen subject was physical and technology engineering. During my studies I began to work at IMC Data Systems GmbH, with the development of computer controlled measuring and warning systems. After IMC I moved to the firm Draeger AG based in Luebeck and was employed as Product and Marketing manager in the area gas warning and monitoring systems. My area of expertise at this time lay in looking after the marketing of evaluation systems and gas measuring equipment with fieldbus- and communication interfaces.
In October 1995 I founded the firm EIK Eilmes Industry Communication, and left Draegerwerk AG so that I could concentrate totally on the schooling, consultation and engineering in the area of fieldbus technology and online services.
At the beginning of 1998 the EIK was absorbed by the BestWeb GmbH, of which I am now the manager.

OK and when you are not busy with the firm ?
Being a sailor, angler and friend of nature, I spend a lot of my spare time on the water. Either in the warm waters of the Aegean, the rough coastal waters off Germany, or in the deep fjords of Norway.
